Stroke Awareness Day 2004 In spite of several members being somewhat challenged due to the President's Spring Ball on the previous night, Rotary Club of Donaghadee again organised Blood Pressure Testing in the Rotary Caravan in Donaghadee on Saturday 27 March 2004 in conjunction with N I Chest Heart and Stroke Association and aided by local doctors and nurses. Around 220 members of the public had their blood pressure checked and recorded, any with "out of the ordinary" readings were advised to seek medical advice. This initiative was run for the second year by Rotary Clubs throughout Great Britain and Ireland and in 2003, achieved a new Guinness World Record for the greatest number of blood pressure testings undertaken in the one day when 127,573 people had their BP checked at 1000 sites.
