The Rotary Foundation Street CollectionOn a hot sunny Saturday, 20 August 2005, The Rotary Club of Donaghadee held a collection in Donaghadee in aid of Rotary's own charity - The Rotary Foundation. In addition, a currently vacant shop unit was generously made available by local newsagent Ivan Currie as a focal point of the collection and information centre for Rotary. The one Rotarian who overslept and was late for "his shift" was made to do pennance by doing an extended shift on the cold side of the street! Mike knows who this is! The collection was very successful, £620.59 was collected on the day and we are grateful to the public for their generosity. It was also discovered that one not so young Rotarian (as mentioned in previous paragraph) was actually in bed at 8.45pm that evening following the rigours of the day although the circumstances are not entirely clear!
