Rotary does “The Ritz”On Sunday 27 March, Rotary Club of Donaghadee took over Bow Bells Restaurant in Donaghadee by kind permission of owner and Rotarian Mark Brooks. The event was a very high quality afternoon tea provided by several Rotarians, wives and partners . Two sittings were held and the restaurant was almost filled to capacity, everyone enjoying a selection of sandwiches, scones, assorted sweets and small cakes accompanied by fine teas. The charity being supported was Hope and Homes for Children, Project Ubuntu which is a Rotary supported project assisting orphaned families in Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Sudan providing the professional expertise and resources needed to help a family become self-reliant over a three year term. In all £1,122 was raised during the afternoon and Rotary Club of Donaghadee is grateful for the support of the general public which made the event an undoubted success. |
