Rotarians Hold Street CollectionIn the wake of the Boxing Day Tsunami the R I B I declared the 8th January Rotary Asian Disaster Action Day. In consequence of this the members of Donaghadee Rotary Club donned their thermal underwear and waterproof clothing and took to the streets of the town with their collection buckets. It turned out to be one of the most inclement days of the year with biting winds and driving rain. The members of the club would like to pay tribute to the generosity of the people of Donaghadee who contributed £1737 to the collection on the day most of them having already donated to the Asian appeal through other charities. |
