AWARD CEREMONY Following closely in the wake of the Hollywood Oscar ceremony last week 3 March 2005 Donaghadee Rotarians held their own presentation ceremony at The Stables Groomsport. This
year’s winner of the coveted Myles Geddis Developments “ Jonah “ Trophy
for Underachievement was announced. In another closely fought contest the worthy winner was none other than President Elect Peter Irwin. President
Norwood Steele presented the magnificent hand crafted trophy to Peter amidst
loud applause from the Rotarians present. It was Peter’s (a well known sailing
expert) land bound tussle with a barn door which took place in a gale force wind
and resulted in a broken wrist that sealed his victory in the award competition. President Norwood announced the date for this year’s table quiz as Friday 15th April - venue - Donaghadee Rugby Club - all welcome. |
