President Richard Caldwell 2010-11

Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Donaghadee.

The main aim for my year in office is to ensure that the Rotary Club of Donaghadee continues its proud record of involvement in the many fundraising and community based projects, which make a difference to the lives of people locally and internationally.

The President of Rotary International, Ray Klinginsmith is keen to emphasise that the future of Rotary will be shaped in each and every Rotary Club by the actions of Rotarians and decisions that will affect the future course of Rotary, The Theme for this year is "Building Communities, Bridging Continents" and in keeping with this theme The Rotary Club of Donaghadee will be expanding our involvement in the local community.

We will support the preferred projects of our own district 1160 this year by fundraising on behalf of Project Ubuntu, Lifeline Radios, and for the global eradication of Polio through the Polio Plus programme in conjunction with the Gates Foundation.  In addition, our support for the Shelterbox project will continue and we hope to reach out to the local community to assist in this worthy Charity.

I am sure that we will continue to enjoy the fellowship and fun, which are essential ingredients in our club.

Visitors are welcome at our weekly meetings, and I invite any potential new members to make contact with us.
