Group Study Exchange visit Donaghadee
A few of the Donaghadee Rotarian’s were very pleased to recently host for the day, a group of Professionals from District 9550 North Australia. This is part of the GSE Programme (Group Study Exchange), which is a brilliant educational programme funded by the Rotary Foundation. It allows a group of Professionals to experience another country and its culture. The GSE Team get a minimum of 5 vocational days to see how their job is done in another country and to exchange ideas. The GSE team stay in the homes of Rotarians, visit rotary clubs, see rotary projects and give a presentation at the host District conference, which this year is in Cork. They are currently being hosted by the Rotary Clubs in Ireland and will be returning home in early October. We welcomed Bronwyn a Team Leader in their local Government Offices, Dunya an Accountant and Julie a Public Programme Manager in the Reef Head Quarters Aquarium in Townsville, North Queensland. Bill Barber their Team Leader a Design Draftsman and Rotarian. We had a very enjoyable day and were able to show them the sights of Donaghadee and the coast line and facilitate a vocational visit for Julie to the Portaferry Aquarium. We finished off with an evening meal in Pier 36. |
