Donaghadee Rotarian becomes a film star!
Donaghadee Rotarian Harris Cordner (in the foreground) responded to an advert for film extras and was picked to play an Irish Gardai in the film "Jonjo Mickybo" which is being shot at various locations in Northern Ireland at present. It tells the tale of two young boys growing up in Belfast in the early days of "the troubles" who set off on a grand trip to emulate their heroes, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Part of the film is being shot in Donaghadee. In addition to Harris, other stars in the movie include Julie Walters and Adrian Dunbar. We presume Harris will arrange Premier Night tickets for all his fellow Rotarians! Acknowledgement to "The Bangor Spectator" for the photograph and apologies for the quality as it was scanned from newsprint |
