CHRISTMAS HAMPERS DELIVERED
On Thursday 16.12.10. The members of The Rotary Club of Donaghadee took time out from their Christmas charity collection activities to attend their weekly meeting. The meeting was held at its usual venue “Gordon’s Wine Bar” in “The Stables” Groomsport. President Richard Caldwell brought the members up to date on their Christmas fund raising activities. He informed them that 40 Christmas food hampers (prepared by the members) had been handed over to Bryson House Charity Group in Newtownards. The hampers will be distributed to deserving recipients through the auspices of Bryson House Neighbourly Care, Home from Hospital and Family Support. Richard added that Santa’ Grotto had raised £200 for the Lapland Trust and that last week’s Carol Service by Donaghadee Male Voice Choir had raised £600, enough to buy a much needed Shelter Box. The club members are still involved in collecting at “The Thank You for Life Campaign” Tree at Tesco’s Springhill. All the money raised at this event will go to Clic Sergeant and The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. |
