First ShelterBoxes arrive in Port au Prince

At the weekly meeting on Thursday 14 January 2010, Rotary Club of Donaghadee agreed to purchase four shelterboxes at a cost of around £2,000 to support the call for aid in the wake of the tragic earthquake in Haiti. This is in addition to two Shelterboxes purchased by the club just before Christmas 2009 to assist in restocking the Shelterbox warehouse following earlier disasters.

ShelterBox tents in Haiti put to immediate use

ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. ShelterBox tents are initially being used by hospitals in Port au Prince to provide emergency shelter for post surgery patients in Haiti’s capital.
