The
members took turns to dress up in Easter Bunny suits and distribute chocolate
Easter Eggs to children visiting the garden centre. The money donated by the
children’s parents will be divided between the following Rotary charities: Action
Cancer, Marie Curie and The Alzheimer’s Society
It was
interesting to see the bemused expressions on the faces of the adults who found
themselves waving back to a 6ft white rabbit. All the various shaped Rotarians
managed to fit into the two Easter Bunny suits borrowed for the occasion without
any great difficulty. Except for one member who shall remain nameless. This
member was surprised how cramped his feet were in the bunny suit until he
realised that President Les had left his slippers in the bunnies feet. Or was
the Rotarian in question trying to find out if he could fill the presidents
shoes?
The
grand sum of £600 was raised. The Rotarians would like to thank all those
parents and grandparents who donated to the charities involved and the owners
of Donaghadee Garden Centre for donating the Easter Eggs and inviting the club
to participate in this venture.
